Blue Spinel & Gold

A deep blue spinel set in recycled 9ct gold. A rather unknown & underrated stone, spinels are vibrant and durable. They come in a variety of colours including red, pink, purple and then (obviously) blue!

I hand-forged the band and setting out of gold which I had melted down to form a nugget which I then used my rolling mill to make wire for the band and sheet for the stone's setting. The band features a hammered texture and is ~3mm wide.

The ring is a size L but could be resized up or down a few sizes.
